About Audrey Lynn-Founder
Audrey Lynn Amadeo was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She grew up as a gymnast, cheerleader, and dancer. Audrey was an Honors Student throughout her school years. She had always had a passion for giving back to her community. She started her experience with children with disabilities at the age of 13. Audrey learned American Sign Language and would teach her Deaf peers the art of dance through sign. She was 1 of 75 students accepted into the Miami-Dade Honors College. As an Honors College student Audrey took an intense course load of classes in Psychology while volunteering her services as a Reading tutor to children with Autism. She also volunteered her time at Rockway Middle School working with children who were hearing impaired and mentored underprivileged boys at the middle school level.
After graduating with Honors in Pre-Occupational Therapy she moved on to Florida Atlantic University on a full scholarship. At FAU Audrey obtained a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Certification in Exceptional Students Education. She volunteered her time at Dania Beach Elementary in a cluster classroom for children on the Spectrum. After graduating from FAU she began working as an Autism Therapist in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She moved on to obtain her Master's Degree in Developmental Disabilities with a Specialization in ABA
While she was working, studying, and volunteering her services to the Autistic community she had been managing and teaching at a local dance studio. After a year of working two separate jobs in the two fields she is passionate about, she decided to fly to California and get certified by Joanne Lara as an Autism Movement Therapist. This certification combines the two realms of work that Audrey is best at, ABA Therapist and Dance Instructor. Her experiences over the past 10-years of therapeutic services and her dream of having a dance studio for children with special needs had become a reality. The Arts for Autism Foundation was founded by Audrey Lynn Amadeo because of her education, passion and talent for the arts and working with individuals with Autism. Audrey utilized her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to develop trainings, resources, support, and Spectrum Dance Therapy classes in her community. Audrey has developed a platform of online courses and virtual consultations on her website www.AMAteaching.com
" I put a literal spin on ABA! My dream for the Arts for Autism Foundation is to create an inclusive arts experience for autistics around the globe by providing them with the behavioral support they need."
